The Storms

By Chris Gulker.

Recent Northern California storms have been playing havoc with the Bay Area.

www.gulker.com has been off the air a couple times due to power outages... my PowerPC doesn't have generator back-up!
Thursday, March 16, storms knocked out power to 147,000 Bay area homes. Saturday, March 18, an oak tree fell around the
corner from my house, knocking out power in our neighborhood for 12 hours.

The storms have made for some pretty skies...

Driving home on I-280 Thursday night

San Francisquito creek runs behind the houses across the street from our house.. normally it's a trickle fed mainly by the
runoff from sprinklers at Stanford

San Francisquito creek Thursday morning

After weeks of heavy rains, the creek is a deep, rushing torrent. The hills, golden brown in summer, are as green as Ireland at
the moment.

Lagunita, the dry lake at Stanford, is dry no more..
